Singer, songwriter, and guitarist John Mayer’s soft rock earned him a number of Grammy Awards, paving the way for similar success in a blues-based vein.
Synopsis
In 2000 John Mayer signed with the Aware record label, which released the album Room for Squares (2001). The song “Your Body Is a Wonderland” earned him a Grammy. In 2003 his song “Daughters,” won two more Grammy Awards. Having established himself in alternative rock, he broadened the scope of his sound, forming the John Mayer Trio and incorporating his long-standing interest in the blues.
